About the Mission:

The family of Jerry Scott Phillips, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Jerry, 63, of Babcock Lake, Hoosick Falls, passed on Sunday, April 21, 2024, after a brief illness.

Jerry entered the US Army on 1 November 1978 and was trained as an Avionics Mechanic (MOS 35K10). He served on active duty until 29 October 1982, including 2 years of overseas duty. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4th Class (E-4), and for his service was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Expert Badge, Rifle (M-16).

After his military service, Jerry worked at Pacamor Kubar in Albany, ran a successful business, E&J Contracting, and Phillips Contracting. Later he worked as a driver for Overnite Transportation before starting his own transportation company called Darkstar Trucking.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Staging at the church with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. Church services are scheduled for 10:30 am, followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with military honors.
