Greetings members and associates,
Recently we put up our new website. Please visit and you will see new features to better keep you informed. It will continue to be tweaked until we can't do any better. Your suggestions are welcome. I would like to send special thanks to Sieg Aurich for creating and maintaining the previous site for the past several yrs. Also a special thanks to Marc Mauss for supplying and maintaining our email system and server for yrs. The credit for the new website goes to Laurie Martin and Jim McElroy. NY is fortunate to have the key people and Captains we have, and so many dedicated members who give much to the families we serve. I am honored to serve with you all.
As the summer season fleets us, I want to mention our Help On The Homefront (HOTH) program. This program gives financial aid to our returning Wounded / disabled and struggling Veterans and their families. We help with food, school clothes, utility shutoffs, heating and home repairs etc. when requested, and the need is verified. Usually when we are contacted, the need is very serious. We need to hold poker runs or other benefits to keep this program funded. A simple weekend ride with 50 bikes / cars can raise $1,000 dollars. In January I asked that all 9 regions might hold a Saturday ride or other benefit. So far only region 2 has stepped up. Please consider helping with a Saturday or Sunday ride before middle October. The families we benefit have sacrificed for us and we need to be there for them.
The upcoming Region 2, PGR Wounded Warrior Run has a donate button with the flyer on the new website. www.pgrny.org To the hundreds of recent new members signing up, things may appear quiet but we will need you and the families of our Fallen will need you. We need to remember daily that each day our Servicemen and woman give their lives for us selflessly to ensure our safety and freedom. We can never repay.... but we go and offer ourselves in gratitude, in honor and respect and be a strength the family can draw on. In closing I ask you use the new website, NY forums, and consider a fundraiser, that we never fall short if our Hero's and their families need us.
As always you can contact anyone in leadership or myself with your comments or concerns. Thank you for doing your part for those who deserve it.
Regards,
Dave Kern
