NY Members and Associates,
We have all heard how a team of our finest took out Osama the other night! After a feeling of relief and celebration comes the reminder that hundreds of thousands of our Servicemen and women and their families have sacrificed and will continue to serve and sacrifice. May we *never forget them and the price of freedom*. May we also never forget those civilians killed on 9/11, the 343 Fireman and many others who gave their lives trying to save others that day.
After the recent Supreme Court ruling in favor of funeral protesters, many of you worked hard and a few new bills were introduced into NY legislation to stop / limit these freak shows and they are awaiting committee approval and the Governor's signature. Sometimes this takes a long time and I am asking you to write, email or call your assemblyman and put on a push asking them to take action to get these laws passed and in place. The link to find your regions rep is here.

You should all have noticed our mission alerts are now coming from our NY Moderators team. You are directed to view the mission details and updates on the front page NY website, www.pgrny.org . This was done for many reasons but the main one is to protect you from receiving unofficial email. You can always view all mission info on the NY or National website. This system has worked real well so far. You can also choose to give your RC's your email address if you would like the mission info directly from them. On the website are our calendars and a lot of useful information and a few good videos and pictures too. Please become familiar with it and you can post in the NY forums and send in Veteran support events and pictures etc.
We are currently assisting another family through our Help On The Homefront ( HOTH ) program with needs like heating oil, car repairs and children's needs etc. etc. The funds we use to help our Vets and families are raised by poker runs and so on. If you look at our NY events calendar you will see very few scheduled so far for this year. Please consider getting with a few others and planning something in your region. Many will show up and contribute. The needs we help with are very serious. There are 11 NY Directors who oversee if and how we can help when a request comes in.
Also we would like to begin visiting our disabled in VA hospitals on a monthly basis and need you to contact Rick Juliano at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to get this program manned and under way.
Our PGR Veteran Recovery Program ( VRP) volunteers are very active visiting funeral homes and locating and identifying our forgotten Veterans unclaimed cremains. There will be several interments upcoming including 1 early June at Saratoga National Cemetery. Check the NY mission calendar for details. In closing I want to welcome the many hundreds of new members and thank you all who take the time to organize, ride and stand the missions in honor and gratitude of those who stood for us. The families you serve are overwhelmed by the silent and powerful presence and respect you bring. The many "Thank you" notes I see belong to you.
Ride safe,
Dave Kern
NY State Captain
