With thanks to State Captain Bill Schaaf and Assistant State Captain Nigel Heaton for their approval, I'm honored to announce the appointment of Richard "Dixie" Hancock of Batavia as a new Ride Captain in Region-1.
Dixie has been a member for 3-1/2 years, and he's done approx. 150 Missions with us. He is highly respected by our members and our Ride Captains, and he has served as an Acting Lead Ride Captain on several occasions.
Dixie is a Vietnam Era Veteran, having served Honorably in the US Army for 3 years from 1972-1975. His MOS was 62K20-Grader Operator, and he proudly served with the 326th Engineer Battalion, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY.
Dixie's wife Barb is also a proud and patriotic PGRNY member, and she has stood with us frequently.
Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Richard "Dixie" Hancock as the newest Ride Captain in Region-1.
