About the Mission:

The family of Michael James Kelly has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Michael, 66, passed away on Nov. 17, 2025.

Born in Troy, NY, Michael graduated from Troy High in 1977, and earned a BA at SUNY Potsdam. He joined the US Air Force on 22 March 1984, trained as a Navigator (AFSC 1541G), and was assigned to the 139th Tactical Airlift Squadron (Military Airlift Command), in Scotia, NY. He was later assigned to the 109th Airlift Wing where he served as a Navigator on C-130 aircraft and traveled, literally, to both ends of the earth, including missions to the Arctic and Antarctic. He was honorably discharged after 10 years of service, at the rank of Major.

His long industrious career concluded at the Watervliet Arsenal as Information Security Manager.

Special Information:

Staging at the church with a flag line for the arrival of the funeral cortege, and a dignified transfer. Church service is scheduled for 10:30 am, followed by escort to, and interment with military honors at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy, NY.
