About the Mission:
This veteran of the "Greatest Generation" served this country honorably. Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 15, 1919, Mr. Boyce passed away on December 10, 2025 at the age of 106.
Mr. Boyce was educated in the New York City public school system, graduating from Boys High School. He was drafted into the US Army during WW II, where he completed basic training at Tuskegee Army Airfield, Alabama. He was assigned to the Signal Corps as a teletype operator and was selected for Officer Candidate School at Fort Monmouth, NJ, where he went on to receive a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was assigned to the 2nd Cavalry, and later to the 538th Signal Heavy Construction Company in the Pacific Theater. He served in the Philippines and Japan and was honorably discharged in 1946. For his service, he was awarded; Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/1 Battle Star, WWII Victory Medal and Philippine Liberation Medal.
After his service, Mr.. Boyce completed his education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree and went on to devote his professional life to public service working for the New York City Probation Department. Patriot Guard Riders has been asked to stand and honor him for his service.

Special Information:
We will already be at Calverton for the funeral of Clifford Doering who is arriving around 12 noon. This veteran is expected to arrive at 1pm. The funeral home will contact when close to Calverton so we can organize in order to handle this funeral. RC Mike will be leading this one at the check in booth. I know this is covering some time but hopefully members present can stay or possibly others respond.
