R2/4/5 Honor Mission - PVT Charles Andrews

Thank you!

No man left behind. No man left behind. Today our family laid to rest my great Uncle Pvt. Charles Andrews remains from World War II in 1944. 'Uncle Charlie' entered the US Army in December 1943, killed in action December 1944. His remains were never identified until about 4 years ago through DNA matching and samples provided by my mother Gail Francis, who was born two years after Charles Andrews was killed in 1944. Initially the Army told my Grandmother, Charles' sister, he was identified and buried in Germany. The Army later retracted finding his remains, and this bothered the Andrews family until their deaths. My mother Gail, Charles' niece, received the flag from his casket today in a full military burial in Rochester NY.
