About the Mission:

It is with solemn pride that we remember PVT Robert J. Budd, US Marine Corps, born April 21, 1922, a native son of Syracuse, who gave his life in the service of his country during the early days of the Guadalcanal Campaign in World War II. He was killed in action on August 27, 1942, during a harrowing ambush near Kokumbona on the island’s northern coast. Born in Hoboken, NJ, and raised in Syracuse, Bob was known for his quiet courage.

The United States Marine Corps has requested our presence for the arrival of Pvt. Robert J. Budd at the Rochester International Airport.

Special Information:

We will stage at Gate 5 on the eastern side of the Airport Terminal. To get there, access from Scottsville road going through the tunnel and a quarter mile on the left is Gate 5.
This access road runs parallel to Rt 390.

UPDATED

We will stage at Buranich Funeral Home at 10 am, stand a flag line for friends and family. The service is at 11am, We will escort to the cemetery after the service and stand at the graveside. Please stand with me to honor this hero of the "greatest generation", at his return and final farewell.
