About the Mission:

Dr. Ackroyd-Kelly graduated from Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, Virginia, 1966, having earned Academic Stars, majoring in history and minoring in English, was one of the 14 Cadet Captains his senior year, and graduated as a “distinguished military student”. In May 1966, he was commissioned in the U. S. Army and stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, subsequently serving his first overseas tour in Korea with the famous 4/7 Cavalry, 1966-1967. Captain Ackroyd-Kelly was then stationed in Vietnam serving his second overseas tour in 1969. During his military service he was awarded the Silver Star, three Bronze Stars with Oak Leaf Clusters, and three Purple Hearts among several other medals

Calling hours are 4:00 to 6:00 pm with military service directly following. I will not be able to get there prior to 5:00 pm.  This is all taking place at the funeral home no escort. If you feel compelled to arrive before I do establish a flag line.
