About the Mission:
The family of US Marine Corps Cold War veteran Gary R. Muffoletto has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in honoring his life and service to our nation. Mr. Muffoletto of Derby, NY passed away on 6 February 2025 in Tampa, FL.
Mr. Muffoletto served our nation for 4 years on active duty in the US Marine Corps from 1977-1981, with a Marine Corps MOS of 3521-Organizational Automotive Mechanic. He had 12 months of foreign service in Japan and South Korea, and his final assignment was with Marine Air Control Squadron 7 (MACS-7), Marine Air Control Group 38 (MACG-38), at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, AZ. Mr. Muffoletto received his Honorable Discharge from active duty on 17 January 1981 with the rank of Corporal (E-4), and he earned the USMC Good Conduct Medal; USMC Rifle Marksman Badge; and Cold War Service Commemorative Medal.
After his service, Gary put his mechanical skills to use, opening his own auto repair shop in Lackawanna, NY, aptly named Muffin Man’s Auto.

IMPORTANT: Due to construction activities at the town complex, please use the Rt. 77 entrance.
PGR will be prepared to provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the Muffoletto family and funeral director, anticipated at 1:00 PM. The escort to WNY National Cemetery will be KSU at 1:35, with the Military Honors Burial Service scheduled for 2:00 PM.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or USMC flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
