About the Mission:
The family of Richard E. Runyon, Jr. has requested that PGR participate in honoring his military service and celebrating his life during his interment services. Mr. Runyon passed away on 2 July 2025 at the age of 65. He was a US Army veteran who served for nine years, including four years and seven months foreign duty, during the Cold War Era. Mr. Runyon achieved the rank of Specialist (SPC, E-4) with an MOS of 91B10 - Medical Non Commissioned Officer. He was honorably discharged on 29 September 1992.
Specialist Runyon earned: US Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal w/ two Oak Leaf Clusters (3 awards), Army Good Conduct Medal w/ two Bronze Knots (3 awards), National Defense Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon w/ Bronze #2 (2 awards), Sharpshooter Qualification Badge - Grenade, Marksman Qualification Badge - Rifle, Army Driver Qualification Badge w/ Bar.

Special Information:
At 1:30pm; PGR members will form a flag line at the entrance to the cemetery in anticipation of the arrival of Mr. Runyon's remains, family, and mourners. I expect the people will start arriving about 1:30pm. At 1:45pm PGR Members will escort the cortege to the Committal Shelter. At the shelter, we will perform a dignified transfer and participate in services with the military honor guard. Services are expected to begin at 2pm. Following services, we will render a final salute and perform a dignified transfer from the Committal Shelter to the gravesite.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather. Please bring your own water and stay sufficiently hydrated. Please ensure your vehicle flags are secured for cemetery speeds. Thank you for devoting your time to help honor the US Army service of Richard E. "Rich" Runyon, and to support his loving family.
