About the Mission:

The family of Cold War veteran Robert G. Harrington has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Harrington of Avon, NY passed away on 21 December 2023.

Mr. Harrington served our nation for 15 months on active duty in the US Army from 1956-1957, with an Army MOS of 120.00-Pioneer. He had 7 months of foreign service in Germany, assigned to Charlie Company, 168th Engineer Battalion. Mr. Harrington was honorably discharged from active duty on 18 October 1957 with the rank of Private First Class, and he earned the Army Good Conduct Medal and Cold War Service Commemorative Medal.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests. The funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 PM, followed by the dignified transfer and escort to Maplewood Cemetery, 150 Middle Rd, Henrietta, NY 14467 for interment with military honors. (See Second Stage information.)

Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached. Thank you for devoting your time to help honor the US Army service of Robert G. Harrington, and to support his loving family.

If you are unable to participate in the First Stage, please consider staging directly at the cemetery with a respectful flag line for arrival of the funeral contingent, and for the interment with Military Honors.
