About the Mission:
The family of Charles Joseph "Chuck" Meyer has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Charles, 96, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, in Schenectady, New York.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Chuck lived in Chillicothe, Ohio, graduating from high school in 1946. He was drafted into the US Army on 19 December 1950 during the Korean War, and was trained as a Heavy Mortar Crewman. He was assigned to the 1st Cavalry, 8th Regiment as a Medium Mortar Platoon soldier in the Chorwon Valley of Korea, and in Japan. He earned the rank of Private First Class (E-3) and for his service, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars and a United Nations Service Medal.
After being honorably discharged in 1952 and earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1955, Chuck began his 38-year career with General Electric. Chuck's work at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory involved designing cooling systems for the nuclear reactors used in Los Angeles-class submarines. He conceived, wrote, and implemented complex shipboard reactor test procedures and frequently participated in sea-trials himself.

Staging at the church with a flag line during the Calling Hour from 10:30 - 11:15 am. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:30 am, followed by an escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with military honors.
