About the Mission:
The family of Patrick Francis O'Beirne has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Patrick, 84, passed away peacefully after a short illness on August 12, 2025, in Albany, New York.
Born on May 12, 1941, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, Patrick was a graduate of St. Dominic's High School in Oyster Bay. He continued his studies at Siena College in Albany, where he majored in Economics. On 28 March 1964, he was ordered to active duty in the US Army from the reserves. He served for just over 4 years, including 2 years and 6 months as a Field Artillery Unit Commander in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain on 30 June 1967, and for his service, was awarded a Bronze Star, Air Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster (2 awards), Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 device and US Army Aircrew Badge.
Returning to civilian life, Patrick embarked on a career in production management, first with Norton Abrasives, then with Campbell Plastics, and finally retiring from PPG Auto Glass in Albany.

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. We will conduct a dignified transfer and provide escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for an 11 am interment service.
