About the Mission:

The Long Island Air Force Association has requested Patriot Guard Riders to participate in the Annual Remembering Pearl Harbor " Dropping of the Roses". This event started in 1970 by the late Joseph Hydrusko, a Pearl Harbor survivor, who would drop American Beauty Roses over the Statue of Liberty in honor of all who perished at Pearl Harbor. The Long Island Air Force Association and the Skytypers have continued the tradition. We have participated for many years in this ceremony.

Special Information:

Make sure you stage on time so RC Mike is able to set up flag line after consulting with LI Air Force Assoc. Ceremony to start at 10:30am sharp. After the ceremony, members will respond outside for the takeoff of the plane that will drop the roses. There will be 10 WWII veterans in attendance, half of them over 100 years old.
