About the Mission:

The family of Harry Wayne "Skip" Burnham has requested that Patriot Guard Riders provide an escort and flag line to honor an American hero.  Harry, age 77, of Penn Yan, NY passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the Keuka Comfort Care Home.

Born in Windsor, VT,  Skip attended Windsor High School and then graduated from Avoca High School in 1965. After graduation, he went directly into the Air Force during the Vietnam War and served five years and three months on active duty, from 1965 until 1971. His specialty was Aircraft Maintenance Specialist: Crew Chief C-130. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant and for his service, was awarded; the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal.  He was also entitled to receive a Cold War Service Commemorative Medal and Honorable Discharge Commemorative Medal.

After his military service, Harry returned to the Avoca area to raise a family and work as a vineyard supervisor at The Taylor Wine Co. for 20 years.

Special Information:

Staging will be in the front parking lot of the Hammondsport Fire Dept. Be sure that flags are securely fastened as we'll be traveling approximately 25 minutes to the Bath National Cemetery. Please bring a clean 3 X 5 American Flag or a US Air Force flag.

KSU from Fire Dept- 10:20 sharp

Anyone not able to participate in the escort can meet us at Bath National. Motorcycles park by the flag pole at the top of cemetery hill. Please proceed to the interment shelter and form a flag line for the arrival of family.
