About the Mission:

The family of Vietnam Veteran Joseph N. Currie, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Joseph passed on 30 September 2024 at the Buffalo, NY VA Medical Center at the age of 78.

Joseph entered the US Army 10 January 1966 at the age of 20, serving his nation for 24 months active duty, with an 11 month and 20 day tour of duty in Vietnam. Joseph was trained as a Power Plant Operator ( MOS-52B20) attached to the 119th Petro Storage Company, 5th Army Division in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged at Fort Carson, Colorado on 9 January 1968 with reserve obligation concluding 9 January 1972. For his service to his nation he was awarded; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/ Bronze Service Star and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device.

Special Information:

Members will stand a flag line for arriving family and Mr. Currie. At 9:30 am, PGR will escort our hero and his family to WNYNC for military honors. The Pembroke Highway Garage is under construction, please enter at Rt. 77 entrance. Thank you for standing for Joseph Currie, Sr. and his family.
