Korean War Era Veteran

Hamburg, NY - 09/19/2025

Mission applies to the following Region(s):

About the Mission:

The family of US Army veteran Roy C. Waas has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Waas passed 12 February 2025 surrounded by his family.

Due to the fire at the National Personal Records Center, Mr. Wass' military records were destroyed. The Archivists have recovered his time in the Army, indicating that he served during the Korean War from 8 May 1951, until his honorable discharge on 9 May 1953 as Private First Class, E-3.

After his military service, Mr. Waas earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering, and was also a French Horn player for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.
