About the Mission:

The family of Vietnam War Veteran Stanley R. May III has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. May passed 3 October 2025 at the age of 83 surrounded by his family.

Mr. May entered the US Navy on 27 February 1964, and was trained as a Store Keeper (SK2).  He served his nation for 4 years on active duty, including a 12 month tour of duty in Vietnam attached to the 3rd Marine Amphibious Force at the foot of Monkey Mountain, Camp Tein Sha, Danang. Mr. May was honorably discharged as Petty Officer 2nd Class on 7 March 1968 at Long Beach Naval Station, California. For his service to his nation, Mr. May was awarded, Navy/Marine Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 Device.

Special Information:

Members will form a flag line for dignified transfer. After transfer, PGR will escort Mr. May and his family to Western New York National Cemetery for military honors and interment. KSU at 12:15 pm. Please do what you can to support Mr. May and his loving family. Dress for the weather.
