About the Mission:

The family of Air Force Veteran Walter J. Edwards has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Edwards passed 19 June 2025 surrounded by his family.

He entered the Air Force on 10 February 1953 and trained as an Air Traffic Control Specialist. Mr. Edwards served his nation 4 years active duty. He was honorably discharged at Foster Air Base, Texas on 9 May 1957, with reserve obligation concluding 9 February 1961.

After his military service, Mr. Edwards was in Air Traffic Control for LaGuardia Airport and Buffalo Niagara Airport, finally settling in Akron, NY working for the Village until he retired.
