About the Mission:
The family of Kenneth H. Storm has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Kenneth, 76, passed away surrounded by family on June 29, 2025, at Samaritan Hospital, Troy, New York.
Ken aka “Stormy” was a lifelong resident of the capital district area. Born on September 9, 1948, in Troy, Ken was a graduate of Cohoes High School and studied Applied Arts and Sciences at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. In 1965, he enlisted in The United States Navy. He served as an Electrician’s Mate and was rated Fireman Apprentice aboard the USS Wasp (CVS-18), an Antisubmarine Aircraft Carrier. Ken was honorably discharged, and for his service, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
After his military service, he was employed as an Emergency Medical Services driver and as a small machine repairman and was a member of the City of Cohoes Auxiliary Police. Ken concluded a 51-year career behind the wheel—as a Motor Coach Operator for Yankee Trails and Wade Tours, and later as a Truck Driver for J.B. Hunt logging more than 3.5 million miles. Ken enjoyed Amateur Radio, known by his call sign, N2VLS, and he was a member of the American Legion Mohawk Post 1450 and Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #3773.
